Why Are There Gay Men? Because Women Who Inherit 'Gay Genes' Have More Kids, Scientists Say
By Staff on Science & Technology from huffingtonpost.com
Science breakthrough of the week: A new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine posits that women with gay brothers and mothers of gay, male children are likely to be more fertile and sexually attracted to men, themselves. The new study, by Italian researcher Andrea Camperio Ciani, links the maternal "X" chromosome to a gene theory known as "balancing selection hypothesis." In other words, the genetic activity that creates a gay man in the womb will create a high-fertility rate for female children, which offsets the gay son's lack of offspring.
