What a week for mayor news: Valdosta, Georgia Mayor John Gayle has refused to sign an annual Gay Pride Proclamation that would recognize the gay rights of area citizens. LGBT activists informed Gayle that he would not be signing his support for gay marriage, but gay rights. Gayle responded: "Too many times we give up our strong beliefs to make people happy, and I'm sorry that my decision didn't make a lot of people happy."
