Human rights advocates were met with riot gear yesterday in a hotel in Uganda. The detained activists, from Canada, Kenya and Rwanda, were instructing local activists in a gay awareness training exercise. The three-day workshop had been running smoothly until members of the local media, when denied access to the building, threatened to call the police.
