Start counting the days: Actor James Franco has played gay characters in the past ("Milk," "Howl"), and has even directed a few gay films (“Feast of Stephen,” "The Broken Tower"). But now, he's upping the ante. Franco is slated to star in his first "homo-sex-art-film," a collaboration with gay filmmaker Travis Mathews. The untitled film will be out by this September.
