A crowd of 200 to 250 gay marriage opponents gathered in front of the Iowa Statehouse in Des Moines today to rally for a public vote on a constitutional gay marriage amendment. Many participants who gave statements were members of local churches and religious organizations. Iowa approved gay marriage in April of 2009.
