Play about gay man staged in Uganda, where death penalty was proposed for homosexuals

For the first time in Uganda's history, a play starring a homosexual character is being performed within the city limits at the country's national theater. Beau Hopkins' "The River and the Mountain," which is about a gay businessman, is expected to draw ire from the local government and religious groups. "Aggravated homosexuality" is against the law in the African country.
