New York lesbian couple challenges rights of religious wedding operators to block their marriage

Wedding (dis)favor: Albany, New York is gearing up for a precedent-setting gay discrimination case that was filed by lesbian couple Melisa Erwin and Jennie McCarthy this week. The newlyweds filed suit after a local wedding venue, Liberty Ridge Farm, denied them a spot because they are gay. According to Lambda Legal, refusing service based on sexual orientation is a violation of the state's human rights law.
