A victory for Minnesota: The Anoka-Hennepin School Board voted 5-1 to settle lawsuits from two gay students who were bullied after the school passed a policy that teachers must remain neutral when sexual orientation is brought up in the classroom. The school board also approved of a new anti-gay bullying campaign. Anoka-Hennepin is the largest school district in Minnesota, and in the past 2 years, 6 gay students have committed suicide. The lone dissenter on the settlement vote, Kathy Tingelstad, resigned in protest.
