'LGBT seminar aims to create awareness'

V-neck u-turn: Malaysia's Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Mohd Puad Zarkashi, defended the recent LGBT seminar as a method to create awareness about gay schoolchildren, not promote violence. The non-government sponsored seminar, which was attended by over 227 teachers from 1,500 schools, explained that gay children displayed certain personality and clothing characteristics (including V-necks), and that parents and teachers should identify a gay children in order to remedy the problem (Zarkashi denied that this occurred).
