Lesbian mom with cancer is face of Pentagon gay pride
By Staff on Military from gaystarnews.com
Forty-seven-year-old Army Chief Warrant Officer Charlie Morgan has been hiding in the closet for most of her 14-year military career. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and going on to fight in Afghanistan after her cancer was thought to be in remission, the lesbian and mother of one has been given only a few months to live. To honor this fallen soldier, the Pentagon has asked Morgan to appear at this month's Pride reception, the first of its kind in U.S. Military's history.
