Diana Nyad, a 62-year-old lesbian swimmer and motivational speaker, had to get out of the water today after sharks, jelly fish, and two major storm cells risked the safety of her herself and her team. Nyad was attempting a 103-mile swim from Cuba to Key West, which she has tried three times since 1978. Nyad will go on to celebrate her 63rd birthday in Key West.
