Kerry letter backs gay couple

By thomas91 on from salemnews.com

Sen. John Kerry has written a letter to the Department of Homeland Security supporting a lesbian couple in their fight to avoid a deportation to Pakistan. One of the women faces deportation because the federal government does not recognize their marriage. The foreign spouse could not renew her student visa because she could not afford college anymore. Kerry said the deportation would not only tear apart a married couple but would place the Pakistani woman in harm, not just because of her sexual orientation but because of her religion as well.
