Gay pride rally in Greece is attacked

Minor attacks broke out today during a pride parade in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki. Unlike Athens' pride parade, which draws more police protection, Thessaloniki's celebration of about 400 LGBT supporters was interrupted when 40 people threw bottles and eggs at the marchers. The uproar may have been caused by a local Greek Orthodox cleric, who goes by the single-name of Anthimos.
