On the heels of President Obama's announcement this week that he supports gay marriage, two Supreme Court cases may have an even bigger effect on the LGBT community. In the next few months, the highest court in the nation will decide whether 17 LGBT couples in Massachusetts deserve federal rights in addition to state's rights. The court will also determine whether California's Prop 8 decision violated due-process and equal-protection rights.
