A 71-year-old Texas woman, Wanda Derby, choked and used her cane to beat her grandson's 25-year-old gay roommate, Lloyd Guerrero, when she found out they were living together. Derby, who used an anti-gay epithet in her police report, has been arrested with a first degree felony charge under the state's hate crime laws. Derby also outed the victim on Facebook last week.
