What would you do if you found out your marriage was a scam?: Up until recently, Joab Penney, 28, thought he was married to his partner, Joseph Parker. But when he recently filed a divorce in Florida, it turns out that his Iowa marriage, which he paid $150 for by mail via Deputy County Clerk Brigitte Van Nice, was a fraud.
