Expert backs away from gay ‘cure,’ but Mormon group doesn’t

The Mormon group "Evergreen International" will continue to use former psychiatrist Robert Spitzer's reparative therapy research for "curing" homosexuality, despite the fact that Spitzer denounced his work last month. Spitzer, in a letter to the psychiatric journal that originally published his study, admitted that he owed an apology to the gay community, and that reparative therapy was never proven to be effective.
