Episcopal bishops authorize gay blessing
By Staff on Gay Marriage from cbsnews.com
A great day to be an Episcopalian: The Episcopal Church has voted in favor (111 to 41) of creating an official service to bless gay weddings--a first for the mainline religion. The blessing rite, which will be known as "The Witnessing and Blessing of a Lifelong Covenant," was also approved. Earlier in the conference, the Church also approved a measure that would allow transgender clergy to become ordained.
