Council of Europe slams Russia for gay pride ban

Pride penalty: According to ministers at the Council of Europe, Russia is violating the European Convention of Human Rights by denying gay pride parades to its citizens, a complaint first brought to the court in 2006 by gay rights activist Nikolay Alexeyev.
