Getting desperate: Maine's former highest-ranking Roman Catholic is pulling out the big rosaries. This week, Bishop Richard Malone said that a vote on Nov. 6 for gay marriage is "unfaithful." Malone went on to say that a "Catholic whose conscience has been properly formed by scripture and church teaching cannot justify a vote for a candidate or referendum question." Fortunately, other Catholics in the state are on the side of equality.
