A lesbian couple in Bathinda, India has barricaded themselves in police residential quarters after receiving death threats from members of their small home town on April 20. The two women--Swaran Kaur and Harsharan Kaur (no relation) are childhood friends who began living together nine months ago. By Indian law, police are cooperating (and protecting) both women from further attack.
