Thanks to amateur Canadian Astronomer Gary Billings, Minor Planet 40463 will now be known as "Frankkameny" (Frank Kameny), an astronomer who was fired from NASA for being gay. Billings wanted to honor the late pioneer, who, after NASA, went on to be one of the greatest gay rights pioneers of the 20th century.
