Assembly approves bill to allow multiple parents

California, here we come: A new law proposed by Sen. Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) passed through California's State Assembly today that allows any person raising a child, such as the non-birth mother in a lesbian couple, to be given legal parental rights. The landmark legislation, SB1476, will next be sent to the Senate for a vote. NECN has full coverage.
