Anoka-based gay youth group says it's been denied chance to march in city's Halloween parade

One of the worst places in the U.S. to be gay: In the past few years, the Anoka-Hennepin school district in Minnesota has made national headlines for its unusually high number of gay bullying-related suicides, a problem that was solved earlier this year with a hefty lawsuit against the district. But now, an Anoka Halloween parade committee has told an LGBT support group, Justin's Gift, that they cannot march in the parade, citing a "first come, first serve" rule. Last year, the parade committee denied a spot to another pride organization on the grounds that it did not have a float theme (despite not asking for one).
