ACLU files suit against NC, calls same-sex adoption laws

By Staff on from wsoctv.com

A two-year-old North Carolina law prohibits same-sex partners from adopting their partner's children--even if they raised the child from birth. But that is all about to change. The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) is filing charges on behalf of six gay and lesbian couples in the state. Officials of the state's Catholic Diocese have pledged to support of the law, which was enacted after a 2010 Supreme Court case.
