Gay Houstonian's killer again denied parole

Support for same-sex marriage surges in Illinois

Illinois voters are warming up to the idea of gay marriage: A new poll out this week shows that more than 4 in 10 Illinoisans, or 44 percent, want marriage equality in the state. This is up 10 points since a similar poll in 2010. Of the remaining polled, only 20 percent opposed any legal recognition for gay couples, and 34 percent preferred civil union status.
